This shop front on Amiens Street in Dublin is one of Laurel Bank Joinery Shop Fronts most recent projects. The original shop front was rotten to the point where a new shop front was the most cost effective option in the long run.

The owner wanted to retain the look of the original shop front while upgrading the material to hardwood. Using hardwood in shop front or and exterior joinery is an absolute neccessity to ensure a long lasting product and structural integrity.

Fluted pillars and corbels were made to match the originals, while modifications were made to some moldings to prevent water build up which would lead to rot.

Concrete base moulds were also added to further increase the life of the shop front as it raises the pillars from the ground and provides a hard wearing base in the case of any knocks the shop front may get.

The signage was made from marine plywood which is designed especially for wet conditions. The existing signage lettering was in good shape so it was re-used on the new signage.
