This traditional shopfront in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan is a great example of how preservation maintains a buildings original beauty.
The hardwood pillars were made to match the originals exactly with fluted channels and stop-moulded edges. The signage molding was also replicated to maintain the traditional aesthetic.
An awning mechanism was also restored and fitted back onto the new shopfront in it’s original position.
The hardwood Georgian panel door to the left and the moulding overhead were made and fitted to add to the traditional design.
